Siemens Xcelerator is an open digital business platform that accelerates digital transformation easier, faster and at scale.
Mechanical drift commonly occurs in the bearings of both hot and cold air fans, resulting in unexpected halts. In response to this issue, the customer - a coffee producer company - expressed their requirement to equip these devices with instrumentation for obtaining accurate on-site measurements. To ensure prompt action, operators needed to be notified of any mechanical drifts through a three-color light column, allowing proactive intervention.
Siemens together with its partner DV Group provided a solution based on Condition Monitoring System SIPLUS CMS1200 used for:
4 fans
45kW motors (x2)
260kW
motors (x2)
8 bearings
Control of equipment wear levels
Access to real-time measurements
Correlation of vibration levels and equipment rotation speeds : detailed analysis
Operator station alerted by light column in case of drift
Alert and alarm thresholds set by experts
2 mechanical drifts detected during the year
Periodic reporting : notification of drift on bearings
No unwanted process interruption
36h downtime avoided
216K € production loss avoided
