Direct-on-line technology like in most vacuum installations would not be sufficient to reduce energy usage. A variable frequency drive can control the airflow in relation to the needed capacity, this saves energy during calmer periods. 
To limit intallation and maintenance costs, the needed variable frequency drive needs to be easy to commission and install.

A combination of SINAMICS V20 drives and SIMOTICS motors is the ideal solution to drive this application. The combination allows a big control range so that also on calmer moments the energy use is minimized. By using the energy saving functions on the drive, the losses are reduced even further.
Also a simple commioning is important. The secret is using the Smart Access module. It allows you to couple the SINAMICS V20 to your phone or PC, making the configuration very easy. The module also allows to clone configurations from one installation to the next, reducing commissioning times of comparable installations even further.
