For the scalable, modular series production that we strive for, the Siemens product range is of course a dream. We always find suitably dimensioned components - for all industries and performance ranges, such as fast-charging systems for electric vehicles.
The concept of the scalable wind turbine is still not well known everywhere, Küster notes. But when people hear that the technology behind it is from Siemens, confidence increases. FlowGen uses SIMATIC S7-1200 controllers for the wind turbines. They align the wind turbines with SINAMICS V20 frequency converters. Modular SINAMICS S120 frequency inverters control the wind turbine generators, the charging and discharging of the battery storage systems and any feedback into the power grid, among other things. “For the scalable, modular series production that we are aiming for, the Siemens product range is of course a dream. We always find suitably dimensioned components - for all industries and power ranges, such as fast-charging systems for electric vehicles.” FlowGen supplies a suitable solution for the customer depending on the wind zone. FlowGen currently produces in Europe and partly in the USA. “We want to avoid long transportation routes, which are becoming increasingly unsafe. That's why we produce locally. This is the only way we can be sure that a system will be ready in just a few months.” Küster is convinced that the creation of local jobs also helps renewable energies to gain more acceptance.
