GSK Consumer Healthcare Levice needed to upgrade an old version of their existing SIMATIC PCS 7. Since GSK had fixed Siemens as a standard supplier and they are already familiar with the SIMATIC Virtualization as a Service (SIVaaS) solution, they wanted to integrate SIMATIC IT into the solution.

Siemens Service experts provided the Industrial Automation DataCenter (IADC) based on SIVaaS, vCentre for PCS 7 and SIMATIC IT. 
In cooperation with Zenith, Italy, Siemens implemented the solution within two steps:  

• Create all the virtual machine for SIMATIC PCS7 and SIMATIC IT 
• Implement a high availability infrastructure with VSAN 

The architecture is designed as below: 

• Host1: 4 OS Client; 1 OS Server; 1 Batch Server 
• Host2: 4 OS Client; 1 OEE Server (Win 2016 client); 1 OS Server
• Host3: 6 OS Client; 1 OS Server; 1 Batch Server; 1 ES 
• Host4: 6 OS Client; 1 OS Server; 1 Batch Server 
• Host5: 4 OS Client; 1 MES RDS Server 
• Host6: 4 OS Client; 1 Simatic IT App server; 1 Simatic IT DB Server
