STAMAG Stadlauer Malzfabrik GmbH
Wien Austria
STAMAG, as Austria's largest commercial malt house, supplies manufacturers of world-renowned brands and large breweries. In addition to over 400 products offered by the company, continuous investments are made in the modernization and further development of production. The old germination boxes had become outdated, and an expensive renovation of the existing facility would not have improved energy consumption. Therefore, the old facility was demolished, and a new malting plant was built on the newly created open space.
For the design and construction of the new malting plant, the Swiss grains and food specialist Bühler was commissioned. For the process control system, the cooperation between Siemens and Mitterhofer Automatisierungstechnik led to the choice of SISTAR. In addition to the SISTAR software solutions, the scope of supply and services included:
Nine programmable logic controllers (PLCs) of the S7-1500 type,
Four clients for the existing servers,
The IO system SIMATIC ET 200SP,
SITOP power supplies,
SCALANCE industrial network components,
Engineering and commissioning services.
As a scalable solution, SISTAR can grow with STAMAG's success and ensure a highly automated and efficient production of quality malts in the future!
