The customer was operating with old SINUMERIK CNC-systems which are not compatible for present day digitalization solutions. Hence, they wanted to upgrade the outdated machines to state-of-the-art ones. Also, the customer wanted a MindSphere integration for the machines to gather transparency about their machine data.
Siemens offered a comprehensive service solution through a SINUMERIK retrofit and the integration with MindSphere. The solution inclues the following details:
SINUMERIK 828D control set as replacement for outdated SINUMERIK 810D ans SINUMERIK 802D machines
Integration of machines with the digitalization platform MindSphere
Compatability of machines with Manage MyMachines (MMM) is ensured
Enhanced transparency on machine tools utilization through MMM

Famous Metal India (P) Ltd. is a SME customer based at Adityapur Industrial area, Jamshedpur. They are mainly doing the machining job as a vendor of Tata Motors. Famous metal is a sub-vendor of Tata Motors and they mainly do the machining job of automotive parts required at Tata Motors for different types of heavy vehicles. They have got approximately 20 machines out which 6 are CNC machine. Out of 6 CNC machines, 3 are from Siemens.
