Camsan Ordu used to operate their motor direct on line (DOL). This reflected to a high starting current and a high voltage drop causing damages at the motor and high costs of energy.
Hence, the customer needed a service partner who could provide a suitable retrofit solution to increase performance and energy savings.
Siemens offered a retrofit solution to replace the DOL system by installing a low-voltage frequency converter out of the current SINAMICS product family.
The solution included the following details:
SINAMICS G120 converter
RPM control
After establishment of the RPM control the system performance increased directly.
Thanks to the customized retrofit project, the customer is able to focus on
their basic maintenance tasks, while a Siemens service expert is responsible
for the expert maintenance on-site.

Çamsan Wood Industries and Trade, which was established in 1984, became one of the pioneering companies of the Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) sector. Camsan is splitted into two groups: Ordu Facilities and Sakarya Facilities. Consequently, all departments located in the province of Ordu are taken over by "Çamsan Ordu" as of March 2011. "Çamsan Ordu", continues its operations in wood and construction sectors with renewed energy, state of art production approach and a high profile marketing policy in its Ordu plant which introduced MDF to Turkey. Apart from regional offices serving domestic market, "Çamsan Ordu" exports products mainly to CIS, European, Middle East and African Countries with export volumes increasing consistently from year to year.
