Siemens Technology and Services (STS) India is an in-house global competence center for product development that assists Siemens in differentiating their solutions through software. Its team of about 5,000 professionals is an important part of the global network of software experts within Siemens. STS has offices in 6 locations of across India: Gurgaon, Noida, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore - Gold Hill and RGA Techpark.  

STS wanted to enable the first smart workplace solution for all of their 6 locations in Gurgaon, Noida, Pune, Chennai, Bangalore - Gold Hill and RGA Techpark. The pandemic has brought on a host of workplace challenges, creating cultural shift in the way we will interact and collaborate in the office. STS wanted to explore new ways of working in the new normal and how they ensure a safe and healthy return to the workplace.   
With new regulations in place, STS had to ensure that the number of desks to employee ratio is no more than 1:1. They also wanted a solution that can help management stay connected with  employees on COVID-19 news, updates and announcements to ensure a safe return to the workplace. The solution must support the communication of new guidelines and SOPs to employees more effectively. The customer also had a dire need to convert their static real estate into a flexible asset, especially one that supports flexible working models. Through these changes, they hope to improve employee productivity, engagement and their experience in the new working environment.
In order to enable a smarter workplace, Siemens is implementing Comfy, the Workplace Experience App for all STS offices in 6 locations across India. The rollout will cover a total area of 85,000 square meters. The features include: 
  • Home screen with 5 static cards integrated with other 3rd party employee facing subsystems

  • Room Booking 
  • Comfy Console 
  • Comfy Insights for analytics
With the implementation of Comfy, the customer can ensure a safer, more intelligent, future-proofed workplace. Other benefits include:
  • Improved employee productivity through the user-centric, app-first approach that provides quick and easy access to relevant information and 3rd party resources via custom cards.
  • Helping employees find the most efficient route to what they need in the workplace, accommodating physical distancing, prevent overcrowding and enabling sufficient planning for room sanitation. 
  • Enable safe collaboration and adequate time for cleaning, thus minimizing disruption.
  • Provide employees a quick and easy way to report issues, offering them a sense of control over the safety of the workplace and enabling facility managers to prioritize and respond to workplace issues faster.
  • Data-driven insights to drive real estate portfolio strategy with visibility into average and peak utlization by desk, room and space, thereby supporting allocation decisions at floor, building and portfolio level. This leads to huge potential in improving space utilization and design.
  • Comfy console enables administrators to configure important information about key amenities and services for employees through features such as desk booking and room booking.
