Zeltweg Austria
After the successful implementation of an OT-Network (SCALANCE) in Zeltweg end of 2020, the customer reached out to Siemens for a complete software-reengineering (TIA Portal) of significant production steps and the exchange of obsolete SIMATC components.
With the migration to state of the art technology of critical parts the following objectives should be achieved:
Reduce errors
in the production process (e.g. loss of traceability information of material)
Reduce errors
during data processing of material in the production process
Increase overall throughput
Siemens Service experts provide a migration and modernization service solution based on the new service program Upgrade Factory. The goal of this service program is to provide an appropriate modernization concept for SIMATIC based on a holistic and individual modernization approach.
In the next two years the following tasks will be executed:
Exchange
of obsolete CPUs and other SIMATIC Equipment to S7-1500 and ET200SP at
significant points in the production process.
Complete
reengineering of the software (TIA Portal) for those significant production
steps (main part of this project).
Reengineering
of the database connection as well as connections to 3rd party suppliers.
Integration
of new production machines (e.g. wrapper machines, wood stacking machine).
"We are very satisfied
with the performance of the renewed production line in Zeltweg. Thanks to the
extensive digitalization and automation, our production runs even faster, more
efficiently and more sustainably."
