Orogel, a large agro-food, is today the first fully Italian reality in the market of frozen vegetables and is a leader in the Food Service sector. Constantly engaged in research and technological development, Orogel has the mission to enhance Italian agriculture, respecting nature and its rules. The main purposes are:
increase efficiency
reduce costs
broaden space
All of this is achieved while ensuring the highest hygienic standards throughout the path that goes from fresh product, to freezing until delivery. Accordingly, Orogel 3 is the arrival point of this completion culminated with the commissioning of the new cell.
Orogel 3: a warehouse at less than 25 degrees and fully automated, according to the concept of Industry 4.0 and the criteria of environmental sustainability and technological innovation:
It will be connected to the other two plants by a bridge where, thanks to mechanized handling, frozen products will be transferred back and forth
This way, the production chain inside the plant is ongoing and totally mechanized with the consequent zeroing of the road transport.
Therefore, to ensure automation in critical temperature conditions, Siemens has modified the Inverters (Sinamics G120M) for commissioning up to -25 degrees.
The aim of the adoption of automation is to eliminate the use of electric forklifts in the departments for the benefit of hygiene and efficiency. Last but not least, the compartment will be completed with a trigeneration plant.
Together
with Siemens, Orogel analyzed everything that is electricity distribution
from medium to low voltage with positive returns from the use of
transformers: the instrumentation has allowed to find an infinite series of
quantities on consumption. This has been applied to the refrigeration system by
improving the operating strategies of the system itself. Orogel could thus benefit from Siemens' support in the choice of hardware from:
Medium Voltage
Low Voltage
Industrial automation
Building Automation Technology.
