Electromobility has established new players in the industry, with new models and service organizations in all markets to go along. Safe servicing, especially of the high voltage batteries has become a challenge for various reasons. This applies both to the automotive brands and their training organizations. First of all, a complex procedure must be followed to safely power down the battery. In addition, every service technician who works with the batteries must be familiar with and aware of the entire procedure.

Polestar, the Swedish electric performance car brand, is determined to improve the society by accelerating the change to a fully electric, climate-neutral future. Safe cars – not just for the drivers, also during maintenance handling – are an important part of this journey. After successful implementation of a pilot project with Virtual Training Solutions for the electric performance hybrid Polestar 1 model, the company was looking for a training solution on a global scale also for its latest models, the full-electric Polestar 2 and 3. The solution must provide one important link in the chain of safety activities that clarifies which technician has which qualification and is allowed to perform which service work. 
The advantage is obvious, especially when it comes to prototypes which have to be maintained or adapted quite frequently: The vehicle's most recent data set and service procedures are available in seconds. Any adaptation of the service procedures is particularly easy with the Creator tool, a proprietary Siemens software helping to build the training content with the right annotations, the right steps and time stamps, and the tools and parts relevant for each procedure. 

Being a service provider, Siemens takes the full responsibility for the entire solution. The data from Polestar is assessed, reviewed, and tailored to their needs in close cooperation. After that, any changes from Polestar or new content can be quickly integrated by the service experts, which makes it a white glove service for Polestar – and a true partnership with Siemens in this sense.

Polestar is a Swedish automotive brand established in 1996 by Volvo Cars' partner Flash/Polestar Racing and acquired in 2015 by Volvo, which itself was acquired by Geely in 2010. It is headquartered in Torslanda outside Gothenburg, Sweden with vehicle production taking place in China. The Polestar name originates from the STCC Polestar racing team which spawned Polestar Performance AB, in turn acquired by Volvo Cars in July 2015. The racing team changed its name to Cyan Racing, while maintaining close ties to Volvo.
