The machine models in the Imoberdorf portfolio – currently five – are constantly evolving. For some time now, the development department has been working on an idea for a completely new type of machine – a sort of multispindle processing centre that would support simultaneous machining. This new machine concept can simultaneously process a single metal part using three tool spindles. It closes the gap between processing centres with one or two tool spindles for small quantities and classic rotary transfer machines that are suitable for mass production of large quantities starting at 300,000 units per year.

Thanks to the integrated Simatic S7-1500F PLC, the Sinumerik One CNC system achieves PLC cycle times that are up to 10x faster than its predecessor, maximising the productivity of machine tools. The engineering process is much simpler thanks to full integration into the TIA Portal. Using a digital twin, the machine’s programming can be checked virtually – long before the physical machine prototype is ready.
