Stadtwerke Schwerin GmbH is ushering in the heating revolution with its new innovative geothermal heating plant. The biggest challenge in electrical engineering was to build a fail-safe switchboard.
The reliable solution for the power distribution of the new heating plant:
Two redundant low-voltage switchboards SIVACON S8, designed for a rated operating current of 5,000 amperes each, were constructed by Technology Partner Elektro Fink Schaltanlagenbau
The integrated SENTRON 3WA air circuit breakers provide both protection and monitoring, thereby further minimizing the risk of system disruptions in district heating supply
No matter if it's geothermal, wind or solar: With our SIVACON S8 switchboard, you are well prepared for the future.
Arne Fink, Managing Director of Elektro Fink Schaltanlagenbau GmbH & Co. KG
Efficient power transmission: In the geothermal heating plant, specially designed, large copper busbars were used as the connection between the transformer and switchgear to ensure efficient power transmission.
Avoidance of energy losses: The switch panels, weighing around 1.3 tons per panel, were installed on site with a manufacturing tolerance of 0.5 mm. This optimizes the functionality and efficiency of the switchgear and prevents energy losses.
Stable operation: With the robust SENTRON 3WA air circuit breakers, Siemens offers a reliable solution to minimize possible system malfunctions. The intelligent circuit breakers not only protect the heat pumps in the heating plant, but also the associated switchboards and cables from damage caused by overloads or short circuits.
