Henkel + Roth,
a special machine manufacturer in the field of handling technology and
robotics, has designed a customized solution for Siemens Healthineers, which is
used in the production of heat sinks for X-ray machines. For years, however,
only a certain type and size of heat sink could be produced with this
hard-coded solution and the inflexible process flow.
Based on
the existing system from Henkel + Roth, which is used in the production of heat
sinks for X-ray machines from Siemens Healthineers, the production system was
retrofitted with the latest Siemens drive technology to realize the requirement
for a flexible production system.
The system
was equipped with a SIMATIC S7-1500 and the SINAMICS S210 servo drive system
with SIMOTICS 1-FK2 motors and one-cable connection (OCC). The G-Code
Interpreter and HMI applications were also implemented. The standard G-Code
Interpreter application enables the programming of kinematics using G-Code,
which made it possible to realize the motion sequence to provide Siemens
Healthineers with a flexible production system. The motion control can be
easily changed in just a few steps. This enables the customer to develop
further heat sinks and create the necessary motion control independently.
By using
perfectly coordinated Siemens components, Siemens Healthineers achieves the
optimum solution for the production system, which brings significant advantages
for the flexibility of production in the field of X-ray systems. This provides
the end customer with a wide range of options in terms of suppliers and design
of the X-ray systems. By retrofitting the Henkel + Roth system, these new
requirements were successfully met. Issues such as safety and CE critical
concerns were also considered and fulfilled.
