A North American cement plant was using nuclear technology to measure the flow of CKD from the process vessel into the hot kiln. This nuclear device had become unreliable and ultimately failed. The company consulted Siemens to find a replacement technology.

Siemens recommended the SITRANS WF330 solids flowmeter because it is reliable, offers two percent accuracy, and has a simple design.

The installation of the SITRANS WF330 enabled the cement plant to forego nuclear approvals, and they can now rely on a repeatable, simple device that provides a consistent signal to indicate the amount of CKD reintroduced into the kiln.
