DELTA LOGIC Automatisierungstechnik GmbH is a family business that has been developing and selling innovative hardware and software components for the automation of machines and plants since 1993.
In order to get old machines and plants with Siemens S5 controllers ready for Industry 4.0 they must be digitized retroactively. Although the product life cycle of these controllers has long since ended, plenty of devices are still successfully in use worldwide. Over the course of digitizing old production lines, the integration of old S5 controllers into the WinCC Open Architecture IOT Suite was required.
The Simatic WinCC OA IOT Suite is particularly suitable for the retroactive digitization of existing machines and plants. WinCC OA IOT Suite comes with an open system structure, equal to the underlying SCADA system Simatic WinCC Open Architecture. This means that, despite different communication paths as well as different software programming interfaces, the data is only transferred via a single communication library.
DELTA LOGIC's multiplatform-capable communication library ACCON-AGLink ensures secure and smooth data traffic. The integration of the old, packet-based S5H1 protocol was solved by ACCON-AGLink through a software adaptation that was as minimally invasive as possible.
Constructive and cooperative partnership - a perfect prerequisite for rapid realization
Rainer Hoenle, CEO, DELTA LOGIC
The software implementation enabled the product to be made available more quickly and the integration of the old systems to be driven forward.
The user or operator is thus spared a cost-intensive conversion of his production line, which would result from the changeover to a new control system.
  • Due to a common software programming interface (API), controls can be accessed from many operating systems. DELTA LOGIC offers the optimal foundation for digitization of existing plants.
  • Versatile use. Once developed, further adaptation is simple and individual adaptation to customer requirements is quickly possible.
  • ACCON-AGLink is constantly being developed further. Next on the development schedule is the extended integration of Sinumerik machine tool controls. Over the course of advancing digitalization, these production systems, no matter how old, must also be optimally integrated.
