A high-quality machine for producing FFP1 and FFP2 masks had to be developed, assembled and produced quickly despite the lockdown in order to respond to the current COVID-19 market situation. The overall machine must adhere to dimensional specifications. All project phases must be completed with little or no delay since the deadline is fixed.

The sharp increase in demand for locally-produced FFP1 and FFP2 respiratory masks was the trigger for Schott & Meissner to develop a new machine type. The resulting respiratory mask production machine was developed within a short time of less than 4 months. It produces up to 60 masks per minute and includes a punching function, valve option and ear loops.
