Viking Kağıt operates many production machines, one of them is using an
outdated SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES converter. Due to the discontinuation, spare
parts for the SIMOVERT family will be available only until 2020. If any faults or
failures occur after that, spare parts will hardly be available and the
customer can suffer from long unplanned downtimes - unless the customer has a
comprehensive supply of spare parts in stock.
Hence, the customer wanted Siemens to replace the outdated SIMOVERT
MASTERDIRIVES with a successor converter from the SINAMICS family.
Siemens offered a retrofit service solution and replaced the SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES with a new state-of-the-art drive out of the current Siemens portfolio.
Furthermore, the following services were provided: commissioning, advanced safety setup, optimization engineering and plc programming and some mechanical malfunctions were fixed in "Celli machine".
Technical solution in detail:
SINAMICS S120 355 kW (6SL3330) (1 pcs)
SINAMICS S120 SMM (6SL3120) (15 pcs)
SINAMICS G150 605 A (6SL3330) (4 pcs)
SINAMICS S120 Smart Line Module 800 kW (6SL3710) (2 pcs)
Thanks to the customized retrofit project, the customer is able to focus on their basic maintenance tasks, while a Siemens service Expert is responsible for the expert maintenance on-site.
Furthermore, the customer can benefit from the following:
Increased plant availability
Defining new maintenance strategies
Increased productivity and reduced unplanned downtimes
Defined reaction times in case of a shutdown
Ensured spare part availability and fast delivery
Reduced lifecycle costs
Predictable maintenance budget
The customer was not able to communicate with the devices.
A ground was prepared to switch to digitalization
An additional buyback discount was provided to the customer by taking
the customer's products from the customer after successful commissioning.
Viking Kağıt grew rapidly after joining the Yaşar Group in 1982 and entered the cleaning paper industry in 1996. Today it has an annual production capacity of 45,800 tons.
