Skytanking has several transfer pumps to pump Kerosine from storage tanks to the airplanes on the tarmac. They only have one main storage pump (flow ~16.000 liter/min) that is driven by a frequency converter which is obsolete as of October 2020. Since the customer has no more spare parts on stock and the availability of spare parts is restricted from now on the risk of an unplanned downtime increased. The other three pumps are driven by smaller direct online (DOL) motors. 
That's why Skytanking was searching for a reliable partner who can provide a suitable and fast retrofit solution. Furthermore, a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the Profibus communication adaptions with the SIMATIC PCS 7 system should be done. 
The planned downtime for the retrofit should not take longer than 24 hours and the SIMATIC PCS 7 system can only be in shutdown during the night which requires testing during night time. 

Siemens service experts recommended to replace the old SINAMICS MASTERDRIVES with the successor out of the current SINAMICS familiy: The SINAMICS G120P cabinet which is an ideal solution for a pumping application. The ready-to-connect converter cabinet are available in the power ranges from 75 to 560 kW or from 315 to 630 kW and fit perfectly for the required performance and application. 
The exisiting maintenance and spare parts contract for the SIMOVERT MASTERDRIVES was  replaced by the same contract for the new SINAMICS G120P.

The project was deliverd as a turn-key project together with an electrical partner named Inarti.
