Schott & Meissner
Blaufelden Germany
Schott & Meissner is a leading machine manufacturer of heat treatment and thermal bonding equipment. The special-purpose machine manufacturer exclusively develops and implements custom solutions for its customers. Quality, reliability, innovation and know-how characterize the work of the company's engineers and specialists from product development to initial operation.
A high-quality machine for producing FFP1 and FFP2 masks had to be developed, assembled and produced quickly despite the lockdown in order to respond to the current COVID-19 market situation. The overall machine must adhere to dimensional specifications. All project phases must be completed with little or no delay since the deadline is fixed.

"The excellent collaboration with Siemens allowed us to implement a new machine concept in a record time of less than 4 months – that is remarkable!"
Everything from one source – Use of standard applications and libraries reduces engineering time by up to 50%
The converter design and single-cable connection technology results in a very compact overall machine with a 20% smaller control cabinet
Drive dimensioning as well as coordination of the specification sheet remotely from home office, fast product delivery through excellent response times
The sharp increase in demand for locally-produced FFP1 and FFP2 respiratory masks was the trigger for Schott & Meissner to develop a new machine type. The resulting respiratory mask production machine was developed within a short time of less than 4 months. It produces up to 60 masks per minute and includes a punching function, valve option and ear loops.
