Umbra Packaging s.r.l. is specialized in the design, development and production of automatic packaging lines for loose powder and granular products, in bags, as well as systems for “big bag” filling and finally, palletizing islands and Shrinkwrappers.
Umbra Packaging has developed a new generation of high-tech packaging and palletizing machines. To make the innovative solution real, the main focus was on: 
  • the PLC with motion and robotics functions SIMATIC S7-1500 T-CPU 
  • the Siemens software libraries.  
Moreover, the machines make widespread use of brushless motors. 
Throughout the process, it has been possible to reduce engineering, testing and wiring times thanks to the use of: 
  • a single automation, motion control and safety platform 
  • the decentralized IP67 ET 200AL periphery 

Benefitting from Siemens' know-how and wide variety of products, performance in speed and precision has been real, limiting hence software development effort to a minimum. In fact, the use of a high-tech platform and an innovative decentralized periphery has drastically shortened technical and analytic times, facilitating the process through the finalization of the revolutionary machines.
