Enhancing supply security in the Altenkirchen district through a new substation named ‘Grube Louise’ in the municipality of Bürdenbach. The substation is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a remotely controllable 12 kV EES switchgear. Notably, this project marks the first use of environmentally friendly, fluorine gas-free insulating gas called ‘Clean Air’ within the new facility. Siemens’ innovative and eco-friendly technology is being deployed for the first time in the network area of EAM Netz GmbH, representing a significant step towards a sustainable, fluorine gas-free era. A particular challenge during construction was ensuring uninterrupted service for customers in the network region while erecting the new ‘Grube Louise’ substation.

Delivery and installation of a new walk-in switchgear station (precast concrete station), fully equipped with an 8-field 12 kV ESS switchgear, NXPLUS C24 (blue GIS) type, rated at 1250 A (including 5 line connections at 630 A, 1 dedicated/ON connection, and 1 2-field longitudinal coupling). This also includes the delivery of various ancillary works such as control cabinets, secondary technology expansion, and protective technology using SIPROTEC 5 protection and control devices from Siemens.
