Regarding the changes in workplace paradigms post Covid, our client reached out to us to define a number of boundary conditions for its future way of work. Being a past two-storey tenant in a building in Munich, the client was about to confine its office space to one floor only. Despite business growth, the need for office space had declined over a year of mobile working. The lack of permanently desk allocation and the introduction of desk sharing were also introduced with the new work concept. A call for more open spaces and collaboration areas was additionally voiced by the employees.
Our first step in consulting the client was to analyze and summarize the transformation needs into one holistic strategy. Based on the current office floorplans, new zoning was conceived, comprising of numerous open and a low number of closed office spaces, conference rooms and new innovation and collaboration hubs. The planned construction work included mainly removing walls and replacing flooring.
In the next step, a Look&Feel concept was developed, taking into account the CI guidelines of the client and enhancing their expression and corporate value. A comprehensive catalogue of possible floor coverings and corresponding furniture furnishes was delivered, complemented with three-dimensional visualizations.
SRE also helped with providing the client with the necessary connections to general contractors and furniture manufacturing companies, thus facilitating the roll out of the already tight schedule.
SRE Consulting proved to be resilient and trustworthy, even when the client faced an unexpected issue - a budget reduction. Knowing the process of retrofitting with all its parameters inside out helped our consultants react immediately to the client's concern, advising the ream on all possible means of cost reduction. A total of three scenarios were plotted and examined in terms of savings potential and presented to the customers in a convincing manner. Eventually, the client was able to identify a suitable option and successfully make a decision on behalf of the promising future of its working environment.
